Today was truly an exciting day, as we held our first CodeJam at ThoughtWorks' offices in London. We were deeply overwhelmed by the fact that 18 developers decided to spend their weekend doing free work on the project.

Combined with the 6 people working from ITP in New York, a total of 24 people was coding, discussing and planning the implementation of new features to the RapidFTR system.

We would like to thank all ThoughtWorkers in London, who made this day possible: Tom, Zubair, Pete, Srinivas, Katy and Ulrike. Also thanks to John Hume and Chris George who decided to work on the project at NYU with the rest of the NYU team.

The day started with a Skype call, introducing all the new people in London to the New York based developers. Throughout the day we kept the Skype call going, discussing user stories and coding strategies.

Being an Open Source project driven by volunteers, we are deeply dependent on these types of arrangements. Still, we cannot express how impressed and humble we feel by seeing so many great, new people show up to give a helping hand. Being in New York, we yet don't have all the names of the people who came, but we would like to thank those who tweeted and emailed about their participation in the CodeJam:

Jennifer Smith
Tony Bruce
Jason Neylon
Ben Buckley
Andrew Marshall
Matt Savage

We are already planning the next CodeJam, and we are always glad to hear from new volunteers interested in participating.
